2007-2008, WELCOME AGAIN!!

After a long summer break, here we are again. With lots of new ideas, new people, and loads of things to do. After having Nicola last year (a great experience), now Jolanta, the new English teacher, is with us. She comes from Lithuania, a country which sounds really interesting (after hearing her). She will teach English to all the students at school, ... and Lithuanian to a group of teachers. There will be English coffee for teachers and something new for volunteer students: English Workshops!! And we have known that some of our students have gone abroad this summer, to practise English. We can't really have a better beginning, but we depend on YOU to go on, to write and read all this stuff on the blog, and to keep the English language alive at Melide Highschool.
Come on, what are you waiting for? Join us!!

CHILD SOLDIERS

There are an estimated three hundred thousand child soldiers around the world. Every year the number grows as more children are recruited for use in active combat. Here you can listen to some children explain how they became soldiers, what stops them from leaving and how some have managed to build new lives for themselves.

ENGLISH THEATRE GROUP

Rehearsals have started once again for our
English theatre group, and everyone is hard
at work learning lines and improving their
acting. Students from 4th of ESO to 2nd of
BAC will be performing three short sketches
in English, playing a variety of characters
from a door-to-door sales person to the next
James Bond! We will hopefully be performing
in Febuary (just in time for the Oscars!), and
look forward to seeing you all in the audience!
